Visit Ste. Genevieve County,

Ste.
Genevieve, founded in the mid 1700's, was the first permanent
settlement in Missouri. French farmers, lead miners, and fur
traders originally settled the community. Visit the Great
River Road Interpretive and Welcome Center and Ste.
Genevieve Museum to learn about the area's heritage. Historic
buildings include the Bolduc House, Amoureaux House, Maison
Guibourd Valle,Bolduc-Lemeillieur House, Felix Valle State Historic Site, and Bequette-Ribault House. In August, enjoy the Jour de Fete, the largest
street fair of arts and crafts in the state.
Five wineries can be found
located within the county. Take the Ste. Genevieve-Modoc
Ferry for a unique river crossing or visit Hawn State Park, known for its wild azaleas, camping and
picnicking.
