Visit
Stoddard County, Missouri
is rich in Civil War history, wildlife, and
beautiful scenery. Just north of Dexter
is Bloomfield, home to the Stars
and Stripes Museum/Library, where in 1861 ten union
soldiers printed the first issue of the famous military newspaper.
The new national cemetery is located next to the museum and
library. Also dating back to 1904, the old Frisco Railroad depot now houses the Berry-Glenn Historical Museum in Puxico, MO.
Hiking, canoeing, fishing and nature study abound at Mingo, Duck Creek Wildlife, and Otter Slough Conservation Areas. Special events throughout the year include old fashioned Homecomings, Chuck Wagon Races, Antique Car Shows, and the Missouri State Racking Horse Show.
